לומדי כאן: הצורה לא משתנה, רק מילת הזמן מגלה אם מדברים על עכשיו או על העתיד. מחפשים את tomorrow, next week או on Friday.

Present continuous שמדבר על העתיד

Present continuous בנוי מ-be (am, is, are) ופועל עם ing. אתם מכירים אותו כשמדברים על מה שקורה עכשיו: I am reading. אבל אותה צורה אפשר להשתמש גם כדי לדבר על העתיד, כשמדובר בסידורים שכבר נקבעו. דוגמה מהתוכנית: Tomorrow I'm flying to New York and I'm meeting my brother in Times Square and we're visiting the Natural History Museum. הכול ידוע וקבוע: טיסה, פגישה וביקור. בשלוש הרמות (3, 4 ו-5 יח"ל) צריך להכיר את השימוש הזה.

איך יודעים שמדובר בעתיד

הצורה עצמה זהה בשני השימושים, ולכן המשפט צריך מילת זמן שמראה שמדובר בעתיד. בדוגמה המילה היא Tomorrow. מילים אחרות שמתאימות: next week, on Friday, tonight, in May. השוו: I'm meeting my brother now הוא הווה, ואילו I'm meeting my brother tomorrow הוא סידור לעתיד. עוד דוגמאות: We're having a test on Tuesday. Dana is coming to our house at five. They are visiting their grandparents next weekend.

סידור לעתיד: מה בדיוק מתאים

התוכנית מגדירה את השימוש הזה כדיבור על future arrangements, כלומר סידורים לעתיד: משהו שמישהו כבר קבע או תיאם. דוגמה נוספת מהתוכנית: Adi is flying to New York tomorrow. She hopes to arrive in time, as the art exhibition she wants to see is closing next week. בדרך כלל מזכירים את הפרטים של הסידור: לאן, מתי, עם מי. התיאור מתייחס לצורה החיובית, ולכן זה מה שמתרגלים כאן.

בדיקה קצרה לפני שכותבים

כדי לכתוב משפט נכון, שואלים שלוש שאלות. האם אפשר להוסיף מילת זמן עתידית? האם be מתאימה לנושא: I am, he is, we are? האם הפועל קיבל ing? ואם נכתב Tomorrow I'm fly, חסר ing: Tomorrow I'm flying. אם נכתב Tomorrow she are coming, be לא מתאימה: she is coming. אחרי שהמשפט עבר את שלוש הבדיקות הוא תקין.

Complete the sentence about a future arrangement: Tomorrow I ___ (fly) to New York.

  1. Tomorrow מראה שמדובר בעתיד, ובסידור כבר קבוע.
  2. הצורה: am + verb-ing.
  3. fly מקבל ing בלי שינוי: flying.

תשובה: Tomorrow I am flying to New York. / Tomorrow I'm flying to New York.

Complete: Dana ___ (come) to our house at five on Friday.

  1. on Friday מציין זמן בעתיד.
  2. הנושא Dana דורש is.
  3. come נגמר ב-e ומאבד אותה לפני ing: coming.

תשובה: Dana is coming to our house at five on Friday.

Is the sentence about now or about the future? (a) We're having a test on Tuesday. (b) We're having lunch right now.

  1. (a) יש on Tuesday, מילת זמן עתידית, ולכן זה סידור לעתיד.
  2. (b) יש right now, ולכן זה הווה.
  3. שני המשפטים בנויים באותה צורה, ורק מילת הזמן מבדילה ביניהם.

תשובה: (a) future arrangement; (b) now.

Correct the mistake: Tomorrow they visit the museum with their teacher. (Use the present continuous for a future arrangement.)
